"I’ve known Timothy for a while. The Richmond artist, originally Lil Dynamite, began his impressive music career with a comical verse on the song “Holy Trinity”. Since then, I’ve been following his music career as he’s evolved into a multi-talented artist whose phonk-inspired beats and short but energetic tracks hit on every level. Throughout the past few years, we’ve become mutuals on social media, and would occasionally spark up conversation. However, I recently had the pleasure of interviewing him, and learning more about all the things that make Timothy Bright the artist he is."

Ironically Armie Hammer's full name is Armand Hammer
It's not ironic, Armie Hammer's granddad was an oil tycoon called Armand Hammer, and Billy and Elucid partially took the name for their collab from him, but also cos it works on multiple levels - an arm and a hammer is a symbol of socialism/communism, and Billy is from a Marxist background politically; Arm & Hammer baking soda is often cut with crack when cooking it; hammer is also slang for gun, etc. etc.

In their music I imagined them to be about 40, a bit physically broken down, but with just enough energy left in them to be pissed off despite being fundamentally extremely cynical. The fact they can elicit that feeling despite not seeming that way in this interview says a great deal. These are class.

i'm new to backwoodz i have to ask, why does billy woods always seem to hide his face in his videos, and well, this interview?
I's day that its just a persona that he adapted as an artist. MF Doom also hides his face but literally wears a mask, another good example is Mach-Hommy who always covers the lower half of his face with a bandana, most notably with a Haiti flag.I also personally think that all these artists i mentioned are more interested in having a fan base of people who really listen and love their music as opposed to getting fame and recognition from the public media, and that is hence why they refrain from it and never loose focus on their real mission, which is to make real hip hop and deliver great content to their fewer but really loyal fans.
I think that's kinda anti fame thing. Like his music is not for everyone for obvious reasons so there's no point to put your face on the screen.
he talks about it in his interview on open mike eagles podcast secret skin. originally it was because he had moved from dc to ny and it was somewhat of a bad situation to where he thought it could be a problem if someone recognized him. theres more to it but thats what i remember from the interview

He probably doesn't want people to care about how he looks its all about the music he doesn't want people recognizing him and shit like that. I also noticed he barely does interviews and when he does he does them with obscure channels which I think is kinda cool lol I think the biggest channel hes chose to do an interview is the one with Anthony Fantano
